Today is a day of remembrance; remembering all the men and women who lost their lives while serving our country…
Memorial Day formally known as “Decoration Day” is a day to remember all the fallen service members. It is a day to applaud those who so graciously fought and lost their life, while making the ultimate sacrifice in battle for the “modern day liberties” that we all enjoy today.

Lest We Forget
We also remember the men and women veterans who served in
our Armed Forces on this day. We honor
those who have offered their lives in exchange for this nation’s freedom; for
without their disciple, dedication and commitment to serve, there would be no “Liberty
for All” in this great county.

Why I Served…
And Continue to Serve
I learned from my military experience that there were numerous
opportunities to serve no matter what the situation or circumstances were; but nevertheless,
the most impactful difference in my life came from watching various leaders in
different capacities serve those around them.
“It’s not what you have; it’s what you do with what you have.” ~Denzel Washington
The love of serving has always been a part of me… I remember the moment when I was scolded for
trying to “feed the neighborhood” with food from our refrigerator (LOL). It was then, when I made the connection that
I’d give what I can and serve where I could.
Now in serving the community, I uphold the same commitment and
dedication once used in my military career.
And I continue to serve because I
desire to share and put to good use all the training acquired during my time in the military… So, as we take this day to celebrate and
honor those who have served, meditate on what you can do for there are many
ways that you can honor and serve others around you too.
Happy Memorial Day!!!
